Kirstie van Noort

Kirstie van Noort graduated from the Design Academy in Eindhoven in 2011 with this her project called ‘Collection Cornwall’. She travelled to the British city to learn about the origins of producing porcelain. During her stay she visited 12 mines, which were used for the recovery of porcelain, tin and copper but were closed in the early 90's, leaving piles of waste behind. Kirstie took 150 kilograms of waste material with her and started her research back home. These materials later on formed the base for a ceramic paint that can be used to colour porcelain. Because the material she took is limited, the collection and its colours are also limited. So be quick! Want to know more about Kirstie van Noort and her products? We visited her studio and got some insight which you can find here.
